The basic division
The Three Regions divide the face into upper, middle and lower areas to discuss proportion and symbolic life stages. Common boundaries run from hairline to brows, brows to the base of the nose, and there to the chin.
Proportion before judgement
Length, width, fullness and continuity matter more than a simplistic good-or-bad label. Balance does not require exact equality, and hairline, age, angle and expression alter visual proportion.
Traditional stage symbolism
Some traditions associate the upper region with early development and thought, the middle with adult action and social roles, and the lower with later stability. These are symbols, not fixed age predictions.
Whole-face observation
Combine the three regions with features, face shape, symmetry and vitality. A prominent zone may simply reflect natural bone structure, so responsible language discusses themes rather than destiny.
Modern boundary
The model can illuminate traditional Chinese holistic observation, but it should not rank beauty, age value or social ability. Health changes require medical assessment.
