What a floor plan can reveal
A scaled floor plan shows the entrance, circulation, room relationships, openings and fixed services. It is an essential starting point for remote analysis, but it does not show light, noise, slope or the wider environment by itself.
Information to prepare
Provide dimensions, north direction, entrance position, windows, doors, stairs, kitchens and bathrooms, together with photos and a short description of how each room is used. Note renovations and any uncertain measurements.
A layered reading order
Begin with the building and its surroundings, then establish orientation, entrance and centre. Continue with room functions, circulation and furniture before applying any school-specific directional or time-based method.
What plans cannot prove
A distorted estate-agent plan, missing compass reading or unknown construction date limits the analysis. The report should state these uncertainties instead of presenting precise sector calculations from assumed data.
From analysis to action
Recommendations should distinguish structural constraints from movable items and rank changes by safety, cost and reversibility. A good plan supports decisions; it is not a magic map with fixed good and bad squares.
